Hi there

I think they should make a standard ie for the board a box in wich the board should fit, exactly the same with the sail Max mastsleeve, max length of the mast and so on.
By doing this the different brands can stay developping their gear.In dinghy sailing 'except the tupperware LASER class) there are different brands and their products has to fit in or on the blanks.(I've done messuremùents in the optimist class and there its is equal) Now my son and daugther are competing in the BIC OD class and from this year there is a OD Rig. As president of a club in two years I cannot find one youngster who will compete with the oldfashoned stuf there isn't any development anymore.
Shortly create some severe rules in which the manufactorers should work and then you haven a OD class with development.
Sorry for my bad english I hop you 'll get the point.

As much as we like it or not- we are in a gear centric sport. We can dumb it down with kits like the RSX or FOD where 1 size fits all but the beauty of the windsurfer has been the ability to match your equipment with your weight and race fairly around the course.
